The DEEP Learning Communities Goal

The goal of the Developing Excellence in Education through Professional Learning Communities project is to provide professional development designed to enhance the understanding and implementation of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics so as to better prepare students to become college and career-ready. The educational objectives of DEEP Learning Communities are designed to meet teachers where they are in their communities in order to help them develop cohorts of effective mathematics instructors.
By using the Standards of Professional Learning as a guide, this project will strongly encourage teachers to foster a classroom environment in which students are engaged in developing a deep understanding of mathematics concepts, making sense of problems, constructing viable arguments, and making use of the structure of mathematics.
